POSTDOCTORAL POSITION available for an NIH funded project investigating hippocampal-neocortical interactions supporting learning and memory. Our project involves high volume neuronal recordings in behaving rats, combined with optogenetic and chemogenetic methods for manipulating specific pathways in order to study the functional interactions between the hippocampus and various neocortical brain regions, especially the retrosplenial cortex. Qualified applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, psychology or a related field. Candidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply: neurophysiology, opto- and chemogenetics, projection-specific manipulation techniques, and analytic techniques for large-scale neural data sets. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines and applicant experience. The start date is flexible and applications will be considered until a suitable candidate is found. Interested applicants should direct inquiries to David M. Smith, Ph.D., Department of Psychology, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853; e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
