The Topolnik Lab at the Neuroscience Axis of CRCHUQ at Laval University is seeking outstanding applicants for postdoctoral positions in Neural Circuits and Cellular Neurophysiology. Various CIHR-supported projects are available to work on the functional organization of hippocampal inhibitory circuits, with a focus on circuit disinhibition, interneuron dendritic integration and the role of these mechanisms in animal behavior. The Topolnik Lab studies hippocampal inhibitory circuits using a variety of optophysiological approaches such as whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology, two-photon and miniscope-based Ca2+ imaging and optogenetics in brain slices in vitro and in awake animals during learning and memory tasks. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art installations completely dedicated to our research.

Successful candidates should have a PhD in Neurobiology or a related discipline, and at least two first-author papers (published or accepted) to demonstrate their expertise. Prior experience with patch clamp electrophysiology, optogenetics or Ca-imaging (in vitro or in vivo) is required.
