A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. N’Gouemo at Georgetown University Medical Center to investigate the role of the sodium/calcium exchanger in the pathophysiology of alcohol withdrawal seizures in rodents. We use an integrated approach that combines patch-clamp electrophysiology, models of seizures, stereotaxic surgery, protein biochemistry, RNA interference, qPCR and optogenetics. Candidate should have a PhD or MD/PhD in neuroscience or related field and a record of accomplishments in cellular electrophysiology (dissociated neurons, brain slices).
