Our research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying synapse development and functions in learning and memory. Our approach utilize a combination of state-of-the art technologies including genetic mutation, molecular tools, electrophysiology, imagine, and behavioral techniques to analyze mouse models. It is our goal to investigate overlapping traits (synaptic and behavioral) among autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia at different ages and stages of brain development and we hope to established a framework for research into the mechanism underlying both core and comorbid symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Our lab is located at the campus of the School of Medicine of the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate should have experience in modern cellular/molecular biology or neuroscience techniques and has good communication skills. Skills in electrophysiology are strongly desired.
