The laboratory of Athena Soulika has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral fellow, at the UC Davis Medical Center and Institute for Pediatric Regenerative Medicine (IPRM) of Shriners hospital, in Sacramento CA. The projects center on the mechanisms underlying inflammatory demyelinating disorders and the interplay of glial biology with inflammatory responses. The lab also employs genetically modified mice for molecular and behavioral studies.
The successful candidate must be independently and highly motivated, scientifically rigorous, collaborative, detail-oriented, and have good communication and writing skills. Experience in glial biology and/or immunology/neuroimmunology is a plus.
