The Stress & Motivated Behavior Institute (SMBI) in collaboration with the Syracuse VA Medical Center and Upstate Medical University has an immediate opening. The postdoctoral fellow will be under the supervision of Richard J. Servatius, Ph.D., Director of the SMBI. The primary research studies involve sequelae associated with posttraumatic stress disorder, major depressive disorder, mild traumatic brain injury and their interactions and interrelationships. Research studies integrates neuropsychological and personality scales, neurocognitive assessments, psychophysiology, and biological endpoints. A primary thrust is escape and avoidance learning and expression in veterans and active duty military personnel. The successful candidate must: be independently motivated, be able to work in collaboration with others, have experience in human research, have a high degree of attention to detail, and be able to communicate clearly and write well.
