We have postdoctoral openings for highly motivated researchers to join the research laboratory of Dr Gary Steinberg. The research focus of the lab is to understand and enhance brain repair and recovery in rodent models of stroke using stem cells or optogenetic stimulation. We are looking for an applicant interested in studying neuronal activity changes during post-stroke recovery using functional MRI or calcium imaging. Strong computational skills in analyses of imaging data and network analyses are required.
Must have a PhD or MD/PhD in relevant neuroscience-related areas.
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team.
Strong mathematical and programming skills using Matlab, R , or Python are required.
Expertise in MRI data acquisition and neuroimaging analysis software such as FSL and/or AFNI and statistical analyses.
Experience with rodent imaging is highly desirable.
Experience with animal behavior, optogenetics, or stem cells would be beneficial.
