The Neurovascular Center of the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Thomas Jefferson Universityseeks outstanding candidates for a faculty position working in stroke and neurovascular disease. Faculty appointments will be considered at the Assistant and Associate Professor ranks.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or an M.D./Ph.D. degree with research in a relevant discipline such as blood-brain-barrier, ischemia-reperfusion, stem cells, or neuroinflammation and are expected to develop a research program that complements the variety of existing programs in basic, translational and clinical neurosciences.
Responsibilities will include overseeing a robust research program, didactic teaching of medical and graduate students, and laboratory training of graduate students. Candidates for an Assistant Professor faculty position must have a strong record of publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals and the ability to seek independent, extramural funding. Candidates for Associate Professor faculty appointment must have ongoing external funding to support their research.
The Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Jefferson brings together globally recognized researchers and physicians from neurosurgery, neurology, psychiatry and neuroscience to create Disease Centers working as integrated research and clinical strategic programs to treat brain and spine disorders like stroke, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, ALS, MS, spinal cord injury and brain tumors.
