Two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are immediately open at the Biomedical Research Imaging Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The positions are open to highly motivated candidates, with an interest in network analysis, neuroimaging and aging/neurodegeneration.
The Dayan lab at UNC Chapel Hill (dayanlab.web.unc.edu) is a biomedical data science lab, focusing on neuroimaging in neurodegenerative diseases and aging. The Postdoctoral Research Associates will be recruited as part of a newly-funded NIH grant, testing the brain network attributes associated with increased susceptibility to cognitive decline in aging and neurodegeneration. Ample training and career development opportunities will be provided, as well as opportunities to collaborate with multiple groups within and outside UNC.
The positions are open immediately. A recent (up to 2 years) Ph.D. or an MD/Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Psychology or other related fields is required. Excellent quantitative background, relevant programming experience (MATLAB, Python or R), experience analyzing functional and/or structural MRI data and a track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals are required. Experience in network modeling (i.e., graph theoretical approaches) is desirable. Candidates with extensive expertise in network modeling, but no previous exposure to neuroscience research will also be considered.
