The Caras Lab is seeking highly motivated applicants to join our team as a research technician / lab manager. Successful applicants will be prepared to commit to the position for a period of at least two years, during which the candidate will gain experience with in vivo pharmacology and physiology, quantitative animal behavior, MATLAB programming, data analysis, and presentation. This position is an ideal fit for an individual looking to gain independent research experience before applying to graduate or medical school. Responsibilities will include managing daily laboratory activities, collecting behavioral and neurophysiological data from awake-behaving rodents, and processing brain tissue for histological analysis. On-the-job training will be provided.
Applicants should possess a bachelors degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology, Pharmacology, Engineering, or a related field. Excellent organizational skills are essential.
