(updated by the PI on June 7th, 2019) The laboratory of Fuzheng Guo, PhD, at the Department of Neurology, UC Davis Medical Center and the Institute for Pediatric Regenerative Medicine (IPRM) of Shriners hospital, is seeking highly self-motivated and creative postdoc researchers for NIH funded grants in the lab. Research interest in the Guo lab centers on the molecular mechanisms of glial cell development, injury and regeneration in the central nervous system, with a particular focus on oligodendroglial and astroglial cells. The research projects of successful applicants will be fitted with the laboratory interests.
The successful candidates should have at least one first-authored paper in well-known journals. Prior experience of transgenic mouse models, co-immunoprecipitation, and chromatin immunoprecipitation is required. Expertise in in vitro tissue culture and primary glial and neuronal culture is advantageous.
