Post-Doctoral Research Fellow – Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center – Cognitive Aging
The Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center is looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to work on NIH-funded studies of cognitive aging, including neurodegenerative and vascular contributions to cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID). The candidate for this role will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values while working in a stimulating, multi-disciplinary academic research environment.
Participate with faculty and other fellows and trainees in the development and implementation of research projects using RADC resources
Participate with faculty in preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Participate and present in educational seminars within the RADC and possibly other Rush groups
Prepare a research proposal for applications for extramural support, such as an NIH “K award”
Work with aging populations in community-based and office-based settings
Aid in protocol development, data collection and statistical analyses for multiple studies, including those involving organ donation
Gain experience in epidemiologic study design and conduct

Candidates must have a PhD (preferably in neuroscience, epidemiology, vascular disease or endocrinology) or MD (preferably with postgraduate training in neurology or internal medicine, e.g., geriatrics, cardiovascular disease, or endocrinology)
Expertise in related fields (e.g., psychiatry) will be considered
Knowledge of epidemiology or cohort study design and statistical analyses is desired
Expertise in cognitive aging research is desirable, but not essential
Strong skills in scientific writing, communication, and team building are required
