A software programmer and data analyst position is available immediately in the lab of Dr. Jacob Reimer in the Center for Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. We collect large-scale neural data using cutting-edge techniques in behaving animals to understand the neural circuits underlying sensory processing. Candidates will be responsible for implementing state of the art algorithms for processing and analyzing these data sets. Expertise in scientific programming in Python is required. Knowledge of MATLAB, Labview, and MySQL is a plus. In addition to these technical skills, the ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as they will help manage data sharing (via shared https://datajoint.io/ pipelines) across nearly a dozen collaborative projects with other researchers at BCM and around the world.
