Application are invited for a postdoctoral position within the “Neuromodulation of Cortical and Subcortical Circuits” Research Line (https://www.iit.it/people/raffaella-tonini) to study how striatal circuits integrate motivational and emotional information, both in health and psychomotor disorders.
One of the aims is to dissect the behaviorally-relevant roles of serotonin at striatal circuits (Cavaccini et al., Neuron, 2018). To this purpose, the successful candidate will apply in-vivo large-scale neuronal imaging and neurophysiological techniques combined with the latest optogenetic (Alberio et al., Nature Methods, 2018) and chemogenetic approaches to deconstruct and manipulate neuronal circuits and to monitor neuromodulatory signals at cell resolution, together with behavioral paradigms.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or Physics, or related disciplines, and have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Applicants are expected to be highly qualified and independent, with documented expertise in in-vivo recordings and stereotaxic surgeries for targeted viral-vector injections. Experience with in-vivo Ca2+ imaging and behavioral methods in murine models will be a plus.
Please submit your applications, including detailed curriculum vitae and names of two referees, in PDF format to email@example.com, quoting “Postdoctoral position in the field of Circuit Neuroscience CB 74875” in the subject line.
