A postdoctoral position is available in Denver in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The successful applicant will join an active research team that studies how neuron-glial interactions modulate brain function and contribute to pathology in neurodegenerative disease (https://www.ethanhugheslab.com). Our lab uses advanced imaging and cell-specific genetic manipulations to explore dynamic changes in neurons and oligodendrocyte lineage cells in the living adult brain using long-term multi-photon in vivo imaging, optogenetics, genetically encoded calcium indicators, and transcriptomics. Applications with in vivo imaging background are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in survival surgeries, image analysis, and programming is desirable.
The role offers substantial opportunities for professional growth in speaking and writing, experimental design, data analysis and primary publication. Ambition and independence of thought and work are highly encouraged. The position will begin immediately.
