We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral scholar in the area of the age-related metabolic basis of Alzheimer’s disease. The person in the position will perform experiments to alter the course of age-related metabolic changes in neurons in culture and in vivo from Alzheimer-like transgenic mice under the direction of Gregory J. Brewer (http://brewer.eng.uci.edu) and Charles Glabe (https://www.faculty.uci.edu/Glabe). The NIH-funded project examines hippocampal changes with aging that affect Alzheimer’s disease. This person also will work to discover crucial metabolic interventions to alter the processing of beta-amyloid.
