Two full-time positions are available for Postdoctoral Research Associates in the laboratory of Dr. Vincent Pieribone at the John B. Pierce Laboratory, a nonprofit research institute affiliated with Yale University. These positions are in a lab which develops and uses genetically encoded activity indicators; further development and in vitro/in vivo application of such probes in various model organisms is the main focus of the work.
Applicants should hold a PhD in the field of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Bioengineering, and have experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques, including recombinant DNA and protein techniques in both bacterial and mammalian systems. Ideal candidates have a background in protein purification, protein engineering, library construction, high-throughput molecular cloning, enzyme kinetics, gel electrophoresis, HPLC/FPLC, transcriptomics, or immunoblotting. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and team skills are necessary.
A coterminous postdoctoral appointment in a relevant department in the Yale School of Medicine is anticipated. The John B. Pierce Laboratory offers excellent benefits with employer paid health insurance and free parking. Salary is commensurate with experience according to the NIH published postdoctoral stipend levels.
