The Hemmings lab in the Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an experienced and motivated Postdoctoral Associate to investigate the effects of volatile anesthetics on sodium channel function.
The main goal of this work is to identify the molecular mechanisms by which anesthetics alter ion channel function using patch-clamp electrophysiology.
Successful candidates should have experience in patch clamp electrophysiology, ion channel physiology, neuroscience, molecular biology and cell culture. Proficiency in English and doctoral training in neuroscience or pharmacology are essential.
