Multiple postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratories of Drs. Jen Bizon, Barry Setlow and Charles Jason Frazier at the University of Florida to study the circuit and cellular mechanisms of decision making in animal models of aging and Alzheimer’s disease.
The successful candidates will join a highly interactive team of scientists who are taking an interdisciplinary approach to elucidate the mechanisms of age- and disease-related changes in cost-benefit decision making. For these positions, we are seeking highly-motivated candidates whose expertise and training interests align with the following approaches: using optogenetic tools to manipulate circuits in behaving animals (Setlow and Bizon labs), using cellular and biochemical tools to study Alzheimer’s disease-like neuropathology (Setlow and Bizon labs), or using in vitro cellular electrophysiology in aging and disease models (Frazier lab).
Applications are encouraged from both individuals with recent Ph.D. degrees as well as more senior scientists. Please submit a curriculum vitae and contact information for at least two references to Jen Bizon, Ph.D., firstname.lastname@example.org. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and level of experience. University of Florida is an equal opportunity employer and applications from those underrepresented in science are strongly encouraged.
