Assistant Professor in Kinesiology at Washington State University in Pullman, WA
Full-time, tenure-track, nine month position. Begin date August 16, 2019.
Responsibilities: Participation in innovative research, teaching, and service activities in Kinesiology within broadly defined Motor Behavior sub-disciplines (e.g., motor development, motor learning, motor control, neuro-motor control). The College of Education seeks applicants with a demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds and ideologies in a global environment. Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess an earned doctorate in a kinesiology or related field (e.g. motor development, motor learning, motor control, neuro-motor control) by date of hire and commitment to high-quality, innovative research and teaching in kinesiology. Candidates must show promise for a sustained programmatic line of research. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral and/or external funding experience. We seek candidates to join our team who can demonstrate the ability to lead interdisciplinary initiatives with units across campus (e.g., neuroscience, bioengineering, extension, prevention science, biology) and the ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic research and teaching environment. Strong candidates will enhance the research and external funding portfolio of the College, be committed to quality teaching and mentoring of students, and provide service to the program and profession. Candidates will be expected to contribute to a current proposed graduate degree in Kinesiology as well as work with the undergraduate programs.
