A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Randy Brutkiewicz at the Indiana University School of Medicine to study innate and adaptive immune responses in neuroinflammation after CNS injury and means to mitigate the damage using gene therapy.
Note that because this position would be supported by an NIH T32, only American Citizens or Permanent Residents would qualify.
Qualified applicants with a Ph.D. (or equivalent training and experience) in Neuroimmunology, Neurosciences, Immunology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry is essential. Skills including the isolation and analysis of astrocytes and microglia will be very helpful. This is an initial one year appointment, with the possibility of extension for more years.
