The Department of Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research position, available immediately.
The Department of Defense-funded postdoctoral position will focus on the efficacy of a polymer to cross the blood-brain-barrier to penetrate the brain and spinal cord, and subsequently assess its efficacy to improve the neuropathology and neurobiochemistry of the brain and spinal cord following traumatic injury in rodents. These outcomes will be correlated with changes in rodent behavior following the injury.
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and proven skills and experience in neuroscience, neuroinflammation and/or neurobiology. Experience working with rodent models of traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, or traumatic hemorrhage is essential.
Molecular Biology skills are desirable
