The Tourtellotte lab studies the role of growth factor and transcription factor signaling in peripheral nervous system target tissue innervation and innervation hemeostasis (Tourtellotte, Am. J. Pathology, 186: 489; Oliviera Fernandes et al., J. Neurosci., 35: 5566; Jackson et al., Devel., 141: 2452). The Postdoctoral Scientist will work independently on research projects under the supervision of the principal investigator (mentor). A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the role of growth factor signaling in peripheral autonomic neuropathy. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. (preferably neuroscience, biophysics or bioengineering) and/or MD degree and have a passion for translational research using animal models to study peripheral nervous system development and target tissue innervation homeostasis. Experience in molecular biology, working with transgenic mice, cell culture, immunocytochemistry and imaging techniques are preferred.
