Basic Function: WPI is seeking a candidate for the position of a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience. A strong candidate will have a background in neuroscience, particularly behavioral and molecular techniques. The candidate will conduct research across multiple domains and have training in translational neuroscience including taking part in both human and animal functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies. The research lab is devoted to using an interdisciplinary approach to the study of psychiatric and neurological diseases including addiction, fear, PTSD, ADHD, TBI and Parkinson Disease.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on various NIH-funded projects. The postdoctoral fellow will aid in the development and implementation of these studies as well as data analysis, presentations, and publications. The overarching goal of the research lab is to help uncover basic mechanisms underpinning psychiatric and neurological disorders utilizing multi-modal imaging approaches as well as molecular and behavioral techniques specifically aimed at finding circuit level biomarkers for these disorders.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in an area related to neuroscience, behavior, or molecular biology. It would be beneficial, though not required, if candidates had past experience with imaging studies. Additionally, a strong background in statistical analysis as well as computer programming (notably MATLAB) would also be helpful.
