The successful candidate will be involved in the development and implementation of diagnostics and treatments for severe stress states. The collaborative project is between the laboratories of Drs. Chad Mirkin and Eva Redei. This unique opportunity is for a motivated recent PhD with experience in molecular neuroscience. Dr. Redei is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Physiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. Her current research is focusing on the neurobiological and genetic etiology of stress hyper-reactivity, resilience and depressive behavior. She is known for the development of blood-based biomarkers for major depression. Dr. Chad A. Mirkin is the Director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology (http://www.iinano.org/) and the George B. Rathmann Prof. of Chemistry. He is a chemist and a world-renowned nanoscience expert, who is known for his development of nanoparticle-based biodetection schemes.
