Responsibilities also include performing transcardial perfusions in rats and mice, brain tissue sectioning and histological analysis. In addition, the technician will contribute to animal husbandry (overseeing the breeding of transgenic mice and rats) and will perform other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory or research projects (e.g. preparation of stock solutions, organizational tasks, autoclaving, ordering supplies). All data obtained must be recorded in detail. Occasional weekend work may be required for this position.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in stereotaxic surgery.
Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a neuroscience-related field.
