This is a full-time Research/Staff Scientist position. Applicants need to possess a PhD, MD or equivalent degree with research experience in the field of neuroscience, drug addiction, or neuroAIDS. Candidates also need to (1) have skills to conduct one or more of the following studies: electrophysiology, drug self-administration by rodents, immunohistochemistry (IHC), molecular biology, or computational modeling of neuron; (2) perform experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis with PI's guidance; (3) solve research-related problems; and (4) communicate with colleagues in English (oral for discussion of outcomes, and writing for construction of scientific publication). Previous postdoctoral training is not required. Applicants with a degree of Master of Science (MS) and 1-year experience in performing patch-clamp recording or drug self-administration are also encouraged to apply.
With supervisor’s guidance, successful candidates are expected to independently conduct electrophysiological and/or other related studies described above; solve/report scientific/technical problems encountered during research; collect/analyze research data; prepare/present poster/slide presentations for internal progress reports and presentation at scientific meetings; and write scientific manuscript(s) for publication of completed research.
