The Neuroscience Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year, beginning Fall semester of 2018, and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of Neuroscience.
The incumbent will teach a total of five courses in the general area of Neuroscience. Two courses will be introductory level neuroscience courses with one of them being a laboratory-based course; two courses will be at an upper level with one of these being a laboratory-based course; and the fifth course will be a general interest course for non-neuroscience majors. Upper level courses in the area of neurodevelopment or neuroimmunology are particularly desirable, but courses in other areas will be considered.

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. degree (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2018-19). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
