Neuro-oncology Research Faculty
The Department of Neurosurgery in the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has a very active and well-established program in neuro-oncology and we are broadening our laboratory research effort in this area. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to fill the following research position for an investigator holding MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degrees:
• Open rank open tenure level Neuro-oncology Researcher
Open rank open tenure Neuro-oncology position is open for broadly based research interests in the field of Neuro-oncology, including but not limited to both primary and metastatic adult brain tumors, genomics, proteomics/kinomics or epigenetics at the single cell level, immunobiology of host-tumor interactions and relevant patient-derived models of cancer. The successful applicant for the open rank open tenure Neuro-oncology position will have the opportunity to join the UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center Neuro-oncology Program. Added preference will be given to candidates whose research can synergize with existing UAB faculty to enable programmatic research support, e.g., multiple (principal) investigator grants.
Ideally this position will be filled by a candidate devoting their full effort towards research, with no clinical duties. Fractional effort towards clinical duties is possible if it meshes with the plans of candidates seeking the tenured and tenure-track positions.
