Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor
Neuroscience-Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute
The UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking faculty members (tenure-track, open rank) for joint appointments in the Department of Neuroscience and the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute. We seek outstanding scientists with pioneering and rigorous research programs aimed at developing a mechanistic understanding of normal or abnormal nervous system function. All areas of neuroscience are welcome. Applicants with strong quantitative or theoretical elements to their research program are encouraged to apply. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
As one of the world’s foremost research institutions, UT Southwestern Medical Center is home to many nationally and internationally recognized scientists and physicians, including six Nobel Laureates since 1985, 26 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 18 members of the National Academy of Medicine. Scientists within the Department of Neuroscience and the O’Donnell Brain Institute participate in a diverse, vibrant, interdisciplinary, and highly collaborative research community within the University. We seek bold neuroscientists that are using leading edge approaches to answer fundamental and/or translational questions about the brain and behavior. The Neuroscience programs at UT Southwestern offer outstanding packages, with competitive salary and excellent benefits and some positions may be eligible for funding through our NIH Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) research program award.
Applicants at any academic level should apply online and upload a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and a 2-page summary of research accomplishments with future plans, copies of their three (3) most significant publications (or preprints) and three (3) letters of recommendation.
Complete applications will be considered until the positions are filled. We will begin reviewing applications and inviting candidates for interviews as early as Dec 1, 2024.
