Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine
The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences (BSBS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF), College of Medicine, invites outstanding applicants for two positions as Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine. These nine-month, non-tenure earning positions will have undergraduate and graduate student teaching responsibilities in the area of neuroscience in the Burnett School on main campus, as well as service at the department, college, or university level. Other aspects of the position can include mentoring students, leading undergraduate honors in the major projects, and mentoring Master’s nonthesis capstone projects. The anticipated start date is between May 2025 and August 2025.
As part of the UCF College of Medicine, the Burnett School has 56 full-time faculty, more than 2,000 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate students in MS, PhD, and MD/PhD programs. Faculty in BSBS contribute to training a growing number of undergraduate students pursuing degrees in biomedical sciences and pre-clinical disciplines. To meet minimum requirements for these positions, candidates must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in an appropriate life sciences discipline. ABD’s will be considered, but all the degree requirements much be completed by the time of hire. A degree in Neuroscience or Molecular Neuroscience from an accredited institution is preferred. Prior undergraduate teaching experience in lectures and/or labs at an accredited institution of higher education is preferred. Candidates to be considered at the Associate Professor level should have been previously promoted at a prior institute of higher education and would be expected to have credentials consistent with promotion criteria for the Burnett School.
