FACULTY POSITION IN CELL/MOLECULAR/DEVELOPMENTAL NEUROSCIENCE
The Cell and Molecular Biology Department in the School of Science and Engineering at Tulane University (https://sse.tulane.edu/cell) anticipates filling a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning July 1, 2025. The Cell and Molecular Biology Department has two major research focus areas, Neuroscience and Developmental/Regenerative Biology. Targeted in this search are candidates whose research interests are in disease-related cellular, molecular, and/or developmental neuroscience and who use state-of-the-art experimental approaches. The successful applicant will become a member of the highly collaborative Tulane Brain Institute that spans multiple departments across the three Tulane campuses.
Applicants should have a Ph.D., at least three years of postdoctoral experience, and a strong publication record. They should either have or show strong potential to obtain federal research funding. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a vigorous, independent research program and to participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching, with particular emphasis on research; academic year effort is apportioned at 60% research, 30% teaching, and 10% service, with summers dedicated 100% to research. Opportunities exist for participation in and/or research collaborations with the Tulane Brain Institute, the Neuroscience Program, the Greater New Orleans Society for Neuroscience, the Tulane National Primate Research Center, the Tulane Center for Aging, the Tulane School of Medicine, and the Tulane Cancer Center. The Tulane Brain Institute boasts an outstanding funding record and a highly collaborative environment, including with our cross-town neighbors in the LSU Neuroscience Center.
All applicants should submit their curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of recommendation via the link: http://apply.interfolio.com/156374
Review of applications will begin November 1, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are important Tulane values that are key drivers of academic excellence in our learning and research environments. As such, Tulane University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/ADA Employer and strongly encourages underrepresented, minority and female applicants to apply.
