Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research

The Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research at Brown University invites applications from investigators focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias for a tenure-track or tenured position. This search will consider applicants from a range of disciplines and will result in an academic appointment(s) in a Carney Institute for Brain Science-affiliated department; the list of departments can be found here.

The Brown Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research is a new joint initiative between the Carney Institute for Brain Science and the Division of Biology and Medicine. We aim to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and clinical application by uniting pioneering researchers with dedicated clinicians to accelerate the translation of groundbreaking discoveries into innovative diagnostic approaches and therapies. We promote discovery and innovation in neurodegenerative disorders by supporting a diverse community of experimentalists, theorists, engineers, and clinicians. We are a highly interactive community that values collaborative approaches to tackle major questions in neurodegenerative disorders. 

The successful applicant will have an outstanding record of research. While we are particularly interested in candidates who focus on cellular and molecular mechanisms driving neurodegeneration and/or specialize in human brain analyses, we encourage applicants from any research area that aligns with the mission of the center. As the Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research is dedicated to translating basic scientific discoveries into early-stage clinical trials, we strongly encourage basic scientists with an interest in translational research to apply.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD and a strong track record of publication in the field of neurodegenerative disorders that aligns with their career stage. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.

All candidates should submit: (1) a cover letter describing their interest in the position (including general field of research and potential departments of interest; 2) a two-page research statement; (3) a two-page teaching statement; (4) a one-page service statement; (5) a curriculum vitae; (6) three to five publications. Applicants at the assistant professor rank should upload three letters of reference that speak to the candidate’s potential as a scholar, colleague, mentor, and teacher directly to Interfolio. Rather than including letters of reference, applicants at the associate or professor rank should submit a list of five names and contact information for professional references.
