Postdoc

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Wilma Friedman, in the Department of Biological Sciences at Rutgers-Newark.  The successful applicant will participate in research that investigates the role of neurotrophic factors in brain development and in neurodegeneration after brain injury.  The candidate should have a Ph.D. in the field of Neurobiology, Cell Biology or a related fields and experience in the use of various biochemical and molecular techniques in conducting both in vitro and in vivo studies using mammalian cell cultures and transgenic mouse and rat models.  The candidate should have at least one first-author paper in a peer-reviewed journal.  Good oral and written communication skills in English are required.
