1 tenure-track, 9-month, Assistant Professor position in Psychology with specializations in neuroscience/biological psychology or related field. Candidates must hold a doctorate in Psychology, Neuroscience or related field. ABD candidates must complete all degree requirements prior to completion of the first academic year. Applicants must possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and ability to develop a productive research program. The successful applicant will teach existing undergraduate courses in biological psychology and research methods. They also may have opportunities to teach statistics, upper-level courses in topics related to biological psychology (e.g., psychopharmacology, sensation and perception), or courses at the graduate level in topics related to their area of expertise. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with diverse populations and to create an inclusive learning environment that is attuned to the educational needs of all students. Evidence of effective teaching experience in a college or university setting with students from diverse backgrounds is highly desirable. The successful applicant is expected to demonstrate research competency as well as evidence of continued growth of one’s research agenda, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and the potential to secure external funding. They will also be expected to contribute to student advising and service to Department and University committees. Area of research interest is open but a focus on behavioral neuroscience, behavioral genetics, or psychophysiology are desirable.
