Physician Investigator Positions in Neurodegenerative and Neuroimmunologic Diseases
The Department of Neurology and the RWJMS Institute for Neurological Therapeutics (RINT) invite applications for tenure track faculty positions at all academic ranks to develop an innovative and interdisciplinary preclinical and translational research program in neurological diseases focused on neurodegenerative and neuroimmunologic disorders. Rank will be determined based on candidate’s qualifications.
Current emphasis by the Neurology Department and Institute investigators includes Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, and Multiple Sclerosis. Ample opportunities exist for collaborations with basic and clinical faculty at Rutgers-RWJMS and with investigators across Rutgers Health. An NIH funded T32 grant for Training in Translating Neuroscience to Therapeutics, led by the RINT director Dr. M. Maral Mouradian, supports eligible graduate students, MD / PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. The laboratories are housed in a state- of-the art research building located in the Piscataway, New Jersey campus. Rutgers provides competitive start-up packages and benefits.
Applicants must hold an MD or dual MD/PhD degrees in the Neurosciences, Neuroimmunology, Neurology or relevant discipline, have at least 2 years of postdoctoral training, and a record of scholarly achievement (publications in peer-reviewed journals). Successful candidates will be expected to maintain a productive extramurally funded research program and contribute to the training of postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by submitting a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research plans, and the contact information of three individuals who will provide letters of reference to:
