The Roth lab in the Departments of Anesthesiology, and Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks a highly motivated postdoc to lead a project studying exosome biology and engineering for therapeutics in ischemic diseases of the retina. This research is presently supported by two NIH R01 grants and other funding. See https://sites.google.com/view/rothlab/home for details on the research and the lab.  

Duties & Responsibilities

Design and perform in vivo and in vitro laboratory experiments using cell and molecular biology approaches; test, optimize, and implement both new and existing methods, procedures, and techniques; assist with in vivo rodent studies; maintain the laboratory equipment and material; develop, write, and maintain comprehensive laboratory protocols and records of results; write manuscripts under the supervision of the PI; present data in scientific events and laboratory/Dept. Meetings; coordinate experiments with co-investigators;  and; co-mentor undergraduate and graduate students under the guidance of the PI.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree in biological sciences (biology, cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, immunology, physiology, or vision or neuroscience preferred), and at least two original research publications in an indexed journal. Position is immediately available. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, laboratory experience, and university guidelines.
