Job Details
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the laboratory of Dr. Roger Clem. The overarching purpose of our research program is to define the organization of neural circuits that support aversive and appetitive emotional responses and determine how they change as a function of development, stress, and learning. Toward this end we utilize a complementary set of approaches in mice including anatomical tracing, whole-cell electrophysiology, in vivo optogenetics, fiber photometry, and miniscope calcium imaging. Funded opportunities are available to explore how experience modulates discrete cell types and stimulus-specific neural ensembles, and how these populations control behavior under normal and pathological conditions. A particular focus is on the fundamental mechanisms of emotional memory.
We are committed to scientific excellence, individual career development, as well as a diverse and inclusive training environment.
