We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher (or Senior Scientist) to join our oral sensory research team at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Robin Krimm. The successful candidate will contribute to understanding the morphology, function, plasticity, and connectivity in genetically defined oral sensory neurons (both taste and somatosensory). To accomplish this goal, we will utilize a combination of genetic, anatomical, and functional approaches in mice. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled scientist to advance their career in neuroscience research, to make significant contributions to the oral sensory field, and to develop their own research niche. This position will include an individualized training plan designed toward developing scientific independence.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a related field.
- Some surgical experience would be useful.
- Background in calcium imaging, two-photon and confocal microscopy is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated track record of scientific productivity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
