Postdoctoral position to investigate the role of Wnt signaling in regulating neuronal properties. We focus on the non-canonical pathway initiated by ROR2 homodimerization and the signaling complex recruited and activated in dendrites. Our findings demonstrate that this pathway significantly enhances the trafficking of NMDA-type glutamate receptors (NMDARs), which are crucial for synaptic establishment and consolidation, as well as for synaptic plasticity—a molecular and cellular model of learning and memory. Additionally, activation of ROR2 influences the metabolism of membrane phospholipids and the electrophysiological properties of the neuronal cytoplasmic membrane.
