Electrophysiology Postdoc Position

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Neurology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical School. This position is part of a joint NIH-funded project led by Dr. Patrick Fuller at UC Davis, CA, and Dr. Elda Arrigoni at BIDMC and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. The research work will be carried out in Dr. Arrigoni's research group. Our research groups share a common interest in studying the neurobiology of sleep and wakefulness, as well as the neuronal circuitry involved in regulating behavioral states. The project specifically focuses on investigating hypothalamic wake-promoting circuits. The research methodology will involve a combination of whole-cell patch-clamp recordings in brain slices, ChR2-assisted circuit mapping, and the use of retrograde tracers to map the connectivity of 3rd-order downstream targets.
