Job Details

The Briand Lab at Temple University is seeking a research assistant to help with studies on the neurobiological mechanisms of substance use disorder. Our research program utilizes a variety of approaches including optogenetics, whole-cell electrophysiology, behavioral testing, molecular techniques, and structural imaging. Additional information about the laboratory is available at: http://www.briandlab.com/.  We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in helping us collect and analyze animal behavior data, manage our mouse breeding colony, learn to conduct small animal surgery and tissue harvesting and perform molecular biological analysis of brain tissue. Research assistants in the lab coordinate laboratory activities, prepare laboratory reagents, and help manage lab inventory. We are looking for someone who is willing to commit to at least two years to the position and is interested in being involve din the production of manuscripts and conference presentations. 

Successful candidates should have a B.S. in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology or related discipline. Experience with rodent in rodent behavior is required, experience in molecular biology or microscopy is desirable but not necessary.  Successful candidates will have a strong track record of publication, good organizational skills and attention to detail.
