The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research. We are seeking a highly motivated research scholar to study the role of cellular senescence in brain aging and AD pathogenesis. The successful candidate will utilize an array of state-of-the-art approaches, including cellular & molecular biology techniques, single-cell RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and AD transgenic animal models, to delineate how senescent cells affect amyloid plaque formation, tau pathologies, neuroinflammation and AD progression. Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in neurobiology, molecular cell biology, neuroscience, or other related fields. Interested applicants should send your CV, a cover letter describing your research interests/previous experience/future career goals, and the contact information for three references to Dr. Gavin Wang at wangy@musc.edu. Competitive salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

- Expert-level intellectual input to the research objectives and data interpretation of the research projects.
- Ability to work independently in experimental design and project execution.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to train and supervise technicians and graduate students.
