NIH-funded position available April 2024 in the lab of Rob Jackson to conduct research on astrocyte-neuron interactions that control Drosophila circadian rhythms and sleep properties (see Sengupta et al., 2019, Current Biology 29, 2547–2554; Jackson et al., WIREs Dev Biol, 2020;9:e372). The studies will utilize genetics, genomics, and imaging approaches, and thus experience in these areas is essential for the successful applicant. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in neural circuit analysis as related to behavioral regulation.
Research Environment:
Our lab is located within the Tufts Department of Neuroscience, with a highly interactive group of 18 tenured or research faculty, all of whom have funded research programs. Faculty are part of the Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The research of medical school scientists is supported by shared cores for imaging, behavioral studies and genomics analysis. Tufts Medical School is located in downtown Boston in a hub of research activity that includes biotech industry and other academic institutions. Notably, there is an NIH-funded IRACDA program at the medical school that will support a research/teaching track for postdocs that gain admission to the program.
