A full-time postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. BYOUNG-IL BAE in Department of Neuroscience at University of Connecticut School of Medicine (UConn Health). The BAE lab studies cerebral cortical development in health, disease, and evolution at the molecular and cellular levels using insights from human genetic disorders and rigorous model systems including human neural stem cells, mice and ferrets. For more information, please check the lab website http://www.baelab.org.
Currently, we are focusing on
- How embryonic neurogenesis underlies mammalian social cognitive behavior, and
- How the gyrencephalic (convoluted) cortex is more vulnerable to loss of centrosomal proteins
UConn Health has an interactive and vibrant research community, and offers employees excellent benefits. Farmington and surrounding areas provide quality living environment.
REQUIREMENTS. Applicants should be passionate about cerebral cortical development and hold a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Neuroscience, broadly defined. Experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques is necessary, and experience with in utero intraventricular electroporation or live imaging will be favorably considered. Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to write grant proposals and manuscripts are necessary.
TO APPLY. Please submit a single PDF file to firstname.lastname@example.org including (1) a cover letter with a statement of research experience and interest, (2) a curriculum vitae, and (3) a list of three references. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
