The Department of Pediatrics (www.pediatrics.ucsd.edu) and the Haddad Lab at the University of California, San Diego are committed to academic excellence and are seeking a postdoctoral scholar. Our lab has been very productive and has a number of ongoing funded projects. Our lab has been interested in the interaction between the environment and genetics/genomics.

The postdoctoral scholar position is focused on studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental impairment following opioids/hypoxia exposure. These studies will include human stem cell derived neural cell models and mouse models and will use a wide range of techniques (electrophysiology, imaging, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, RNA-seq, data mining, etc.).

We encourage the application from individuals with a strong background in molecular and cellular neuroscience and electrophysiology. Prior work experience in human induced pluripotent stem cells and/or brain organoids culture is desirable. Successful applicants should be highly self-motivated, work well in a collaborative team environment, and must be able to manage multiple research projects.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
