Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neurorepair; Stanford University

We have an opening for a highly motivated postdoc to join the research laboratory of Dr Gary Steinberg in the Dept of Neurosurgery, Stanford University. The successful candidate will study the mechanisms of stem cell-mediated brain recovery in rodent stroke models using genetic, biological, and omics approaches.

Applicant qualifications:

  • The applicant must have a PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant subject area (e.g. neuroscience, immunology, biochemistry).
  • Be self-motivated, have good communication skills (both oral and written), and the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team.
  • Experience in bioinformatics, flow cytometry, molecular biology, cell culture, animal surgery, rodent behavior, and confocal microscopy is highly desirable.
  • Experience in microbiome analyses or CRISPR would be an asset.
