Job Details

The Reynolds laboratory has several openings for postdoctoral researchers who are interested in understanding the neural mechanisms underlying visual perception, attention and cognition.   The open positions involve collaborations between my laboratory and researchers with expertise in advanced methods of brain imaging (Mark Schnitzer's laboratory, Stanford), Neuroengineering (Duygu Kuzum's laboratory, UCSD) and theoretical neuroscience (Told Coleman's laboratory, Stanford; Lyle Muller's laboratory, Western University).

The ideal candidate should be collegial, creative and deeply interested in neuroscience.  We can provide training in all areas needed to successfully carry out the research but it would be plus if the candidate has expertise in an area of neuroscience such as electrophysiology, optical imaging of neural activity, primate behavior (including but not limited to the common marmoset) and/or computational neuroscience.

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in neuroscience and one or more first author peer reviewed publications are required.

In the Reynolds laboratory and at the Salk Institute we are deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every individual's unique background, perspective, and talents are valued. We believe that diversity enhances our creativity, innovation, and the quality of our research. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our team and contribute to our pursuit of scientific excellence.

The full postdoctoral salary range for wet lab opportunities is $70,000 to $85,000. This range covers the entire postdoctoral training period; recent Ph.D. graduates should expect an offer at or close to $70,000 (minimum of the salary range). Salk Institute provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the institute reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
