Postdoctoral position is available with the joint mentorship in the Sutton and Iwase laboratories, which combine expertise of synaptic plasticity and epigenetics, at the University of Michigan Medical School.

Candidate will be able to conduct discovery-oriented research in the unique collaborative environment. Candidate will be able to use electrophysiology, neuroimaging, mouse models, chromatin biochemistry, functional genomics/informatics to explore the roles of new epigenetic regulators in activity-dependent processes in the central nervous system. Our laboratories are closely linked with multiple basic and clinical programs within the departments of Molecular and Integrative Physiology and Human Genetics, and Michigan Neuroscience Institute.  The department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology runs a structured professional development program for postdoctoral research fellows that features enhanced mentoring and an emphasis on development of key skills such as scientific writing and oral communication.

 

The Salary range -$56,484 ~ $66,604 per year - comes with a competitive benefits package, and the opportunity to appoint and supervise one or more paid undergraduates to work on projects of your choice. The appointment of this position is at least 2 years. We are looking for highly-motivated individual who meets the qualification below 

  • Ph.D. in neurobiology/molecular and cell biology/bioinformatics or related discipline.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experiences in one or more of the following fields preferred, but not required: synaptic plasticity, genetics, epigenetics.
