The Department of Psychology at Colorado College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to start in August 2024. The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in a substantive field of neuroscience (e.g., cognitive neuroscience, computational neuroscience, systems neuroscience, neurophysiology). The candidate must exhibit potential for excellence in teaching a diverse community of undergraduates and should be interested in teaching across undergraduate neuroscience and psychology curricula, including introductory and advanced undergraduate courses. As part of a strong commitment to teaching and supervising undergraduate research students, the ideal candidate will have a plan for a cohesive research program in neuroscience. This position is housed in the Department of Psychology. Thus, some background in psychology and an interdisciplinary perspective is valued.
  Courses at Colorado College are taught on the Block Plan, in which students take, and the faculty teach, one course at a time for three- and one-half weeks. The teaching load is five courses plus one undergraduate thesis/research advising block per year. Teaching responsibilities will vary depending upon the candidate’s expertise. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a dynamic vision for joining our institutional commitment to antiracist work and actively broadening participation in STEM fields by historically underrepresented groups. The candidate will contribute to Colorado College’s interdisciplinary Neuroscience major, which was founded in 1995 as one of the first undergraduate Neuroscience majors in the country, and they will create and maintain an active research program with undergraduates.
